Homeschool Success Defined

Nope, not gonna tell you how to define your homeschool success. Just not gonna do it, sorry :) . Truth is, couldn’t do it if I wanted to!

What I am going to do however, is encourage you to start your homeschooling endeavors, (after praying & learning, of course – see Pray & Learn), by completing this statement:

I will consider our homeschooling successful if……

There is no right or wrong way to complete this statement – it’s about you and your kids. Starting with the end result in mind will greatly help you stay on track & keep your focus. You will be freed to follow the plan most appropriate for your children as individuals.

Your answer may be different for each of your kids, or you may have one statement that fits them all. (If you’ve never done this, let me encourage you to take time to do it now.) Prayerfully & thoughtfully, revisit the websites mentioned in Tip 4, with your “success” statement in mind.

Once you know how you define success for your home education, you can ask yourself this question:
“What do I need to provide for my kids to accomplish this?”

As you answer this question, you will find a framework of goals developing that will be invaluable as you make decisions regarding your home education.

This framework is not carved in stone and as you move forward, and God leads, you may find it changing. That’s fine, it’s good, its another one of those wonderful benefits of homeschooling!
