Buying & Selling Used Homeschool Curriculum

It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year again when homeschoolers begin looking for resources to use for next year. (Where does the time go?!?) Let me give you some ideas on where you can find some good buys and good places to sell the used homeschool curriculum and resources you no longer need.

eBay

EBay is one of my favorites. In my opinion and experience, it’s a great place to buy and sell. I have purchased a number of homeschool resources for a very reasonable price.

The most critical thing to check before purchasing is the seller’s feedback. I personally won’t buy anything from anyone with a feedback score below 98%

I have also sold many items, for what I believe is a fair price (my customers seem to be happy according to my feedback ratings – click here to check out my store) and I have been able to recover some of the cost of my original purchase. You can also check out the eBay box (you’ll have to scroll down a bit)on the right for some of the other current homeschool listings.

If you’re new to eBay, no problem. It’s very easy to set up an account and 99.99% of the people I have dealt with have been really great! If you’d like to set up an eBay account, it’s a safe, fast, easy, and free process. Just click here and you’re on your way!

While you’re at it, I’d encourage you to sign up for a PayPal account as well, as it really simplifies and makes safer the whole online payment process. You can do that here.

Amazon

I have found some great deals on used curriculum and resources on Amazon. Just go to Amazon.com and select the appropriate category from the dropdown menu at the top of the page. Then type in the title of what you’re looking for. The results may produce new and used copies. I have found some great used books and movies, but again, if buying used, be sure to check the seller’s rating. Also, don’t forget to figure in shipping costs, as sometimes it’s cheaper to buy new.

It is also very easy to setup a sellers account to sell your resources.

The Old School House

One or two years ago, both eBay and Amazon instituted a policy that forbids the selling of curriculum containing teacher manuals and tests/test results.

In response to that, The Old Schoolhouse developed an auction site, Homeschool Buy, where, similar to eBay, you can buy and sell your used homeschool curriculum including the teacher manuals. Thanks Old School House! Plus, if you’ve never visited The Old Schoolhouse, let me encourage you to do so! They offer soooo many great resources!

Vegsource

This page contains a number of links to sites where your can buy and/or sell used curriculum.

If anybody has any other great places they’ve found to buy or sell their used curriculum, let the rest of us know by leaving a comment! Thanks.

Sue
