7 Tips for Educating at Home
During the next few days, I am going to do a series of posts –seven to be exact
– that I believe will be helpful to you in the home education of your child(ren).
Many of you who will read these have far more experience in homeschooling than I and will undoubtedly have your own valuable tips to share. Please do! Feel free to post them in the comments section so we can all benefit from the wisdom of your experience!
The seven tips I will share about home education are written from my own experience and therefore, will have my own personal slant. By this I mean:
1) we began homeschooling after years of public education and
2) we began our home education at the high school level.
Some tips are fairly specific to making the switch from an institutionalized setting to learning at home, and more specifically at the highschool stage. However, I believe the essence of most of the tips will apply to everyone. It doesn’t matter where you are on the home school journey.
- Is your child young and just beginning their education?
- Are you making the transition from public or private school to home education? If so, is your child still in the primary grades or are you beginning home school with a teen?
- Have you homeschooled “forever”?
Wherever you are, I trust that what you will read in these next few days will bless and encourage you to persevere in what I believe is one of the most precious gifts you can ever give your child – your time!
